The residents of Mousuni Island live in perpetual fear of losing their homes and paddy plots to the hungry tides of the Muri Ganga river.
Mousuni is one of the many islands that make up the Sundarbans. Rising sea levels, unpredictable climate patterns and the lack of a concrete embankment have resulted in major flooding.
If the island continues to shrink at the current rate Mousuni will be entirely submerged by 2025.
